Since I started working with young adults in the early 2000's, my goal has been to find a way to make tutoring an enriching and rewarding experience. I worked at a major educational organization for many years and witnessed just how impersonal the tutoring industry can be. I knew that something better was possible, so I decided to start my own business. I wanted to provide the personal attention that students need to truly learn. I felt it was imperative that I adjust to each student's particular learning style, figure out where they are in their academic growth, and create a curriculum based on their individual needs.

I continue to follow that philosophy to this day. Each student that I work with is important and gets my undivided attention. As we work together and I get to know them, I am able to create a study plan specifically tailored to boost their strengths and improve their weaknesses.

There is no short cut to learning, and I believe that, while test-taking strategies are an integral part of success on any exam, it is vital to simultaneously focus on building a fundamental understanding of the core concepts of reading, writing, and mathematics. This may sometimes take a little more time, but the rewards are manifold. Each student ends up with a more profound understanding of the material, and this invariably results in much better test scores.
